La Tomatina Food Fight in Spain
Earlier today, the small town of Buñol near Valencia, Spain, hosted its annual Tomatina festival. Thousands of participants flooded the streets to throw more than 100 metric tons (220,450 pounds) of overripe tomatoes at each other. Because the event has become so popular, this year the town of Buñol introduced a limit to the number of participants and charged an entry fee. The event dates back to 1945, and while the origins of the festival are uncertain, it has become one of Spain’s most beloved (and messy) holidays.
This time next year, I could be here!
Tumblr, teaching more about rape culture than they do in school
You should have taken my class.
I’ve never even heard the words “rape” and “culture” used together outside the internet. Schools don’t give a damn.
if you bring stuff up like this in school, you get weird looks.
It literally is a culture thing though, it’s not natural, our primate ancestors weren’t inherently rapists and many cultures that are ironically considered “less civilized” with minimal outside influence deem rape as one of the highest of crimes to the point where rapists are ostracized by their entire community. If we stopped fucking teaching that it was ok then it wouldn’t happen nearly as much as it does.
Reblogging because its the truth!

Salsa in the sun!! Yayyyyyyy SPAIN!! :O
I’ve done it. Well not officially just yet, a little bit of money to bank but otherwise I’m there! Over £2650 raised for Meningitis Research Foundation - wow, a heck of a lot of money. I’m so proud of myself, those who’ve helped me, donated, given their time and effort. We did it. Now that it’s done (well, you can still donate guys ;) ) I’ve just got a little stroll up a hill.
Ha! I’ve been reading up on different things ready for Kili. I always knew it was going to be a challenge, really tough, a tad difficult. But I don’t think I really understood what kind of challenge I was undertaking. I mean, up until now my focus has only really been raising the money. I’m kind of nervous in all honesty, but excited. I like a challenge.
I’ve set up updates on Facebook so you can see where I should be each day. Where I will be. It’s all a mental game, your body can do anything, it’s just convincing your mind that you can do. If I just keep those faces in my mind, the face of the aunt who lost her nephew, those who shared their stories with me on my fundraising journey, you guys, the people who donated and the people who have supported me and said ‘You can do it’, then I will make it to the top.
Then I’ll share a picture of me at the summit at dawn. You wait.
